Check the Oil! magazineCheck The Oil!

The magazine for Petroliana collectors

Check The Oil! magazine has two regular columns that are directly related to the topic of this Website. Letter from Europe looks at the relatively undeveloped Petroliana collecting scene in Europe and also at the history of European Petrol Companies. Articles have included reviews of main exhibitions and swap meets, such as Rétromobile in Paris and the Autumn Beaulieu Autojumble, the histories of firms such as Fina, Elf and Conoco in Europe, individuals' or museum collections, and items of petroliana from locations as diverse as Brussels and Romania.

Dave Leach's regular map column covers Oil Company Road Maps from the USA and also internationally, including Europe. This sometimes focuses on maps from one or more companies (ranging from international names such as Shell to domestic US brands like Billups or Rotary), or sometimes takes a thematic approach like animals or cartoons on maps.
